Great Tone from a Tele inspired Strat Bridge.

Ever wish your Strat bridge sounded more like a Tele? Well, you are not alone. @JayLeonardJ is a bonafide Tele-master but sometimes the job he is working requires some Strat-ness.

Jay always wished he could get Tele-ish tones from his Strat. Jay thought this was an impossible task but during a chat with our founder, he realized his dream might be within reach. That's when this project began & these pickups are finally ready for the rest of the world to enjoy.

Unlike the rest of our line of Strat pickups, the J-MOD set is made with a Tele-like baseplate on the bridge. The bridge is also made with 42awg Plain Enamel wire like most Vintage Tele Pickups. The neck has a similar voicing to the J-Mod Tele set minus the cover. The Neck pickup delivers warmth approaching Tele neck tones while still being true to the classic Strat neck tones we all know and love. The middle pickup is a modified version of our 1954 Twang Pickup that delivers amazing in-between positions.

They sound great clean or dirty. You can drive your tube amp into beautiful overdrive or get great tones from your favorite dirt pedal. @JayLeonardJ helped us design this set & he made sure they sounded great with all of his vintage & modern gear before giving his seal or approval.

Pro Tested – On the Road & in the Studio

Jay Leonard Juatco is a professional composer, front-man, session player, touring guitarist & all around great guy. Jay is no stranger to the road, the studio or great tone. He is one of the most influential tone-chasing guitarists on the scene these days. He's been using our pickups in for several years now in multiple guitars. It's an honor that such an amazing talent chooses our pickups to achieve his tone & it was a privilege to work on this design with him.

Jay approached us with the idea of making a Strat set with Tele-inspired bridge pickup, He also requested that the in-between & middle positions sound as amazing as a few vintage Strat's he's played. That's not all, he wanted the to neck to be as fat sounding as a Tele but with the articulate and open nature of a Strat.

Jay had big ideas & we were honored that he felt we were up to the task. R&D on this set took several years & there were multiple revisions along the way. The J-Mod Strat set is a pro set made for and designed by a pro.

Do you feel like you've met Jay before? You may recognize Jay from demos on our site or product video's he's done for the likes of Roland, Fender, Keeley, H&K, Quilter Labs, Wampler, Yamaha and many others. He's a busy musician that's toured the world & logged many years of studio time.

    Vintage Tone - Modern Innovation.

Our painstaking design and testing process has yielded pickups that that sound great with tube amps, pedals, solid state amps, digital devices and even software.

    How to Buy/Pricing

Our Strat Pickups start at $497 - Due to overwhelming demand, the current wait is 6 to 10 weeks on most sets but this set will not be ready for shipment until January 2021. To order click the "Add to Cart" at the top of the page.

Our building process takes a little longer than most pickup winders and we have rigorous testing that is performed on all pickups before they ship. This includes sound test. The goal is to make pickups that will not only inspire you when you get them but also 20 or 30 years down the road. We want these to be the last pickups you get.

Players with good ears seem to hear the difference right away. In fact, just about every pro we've dealt with has ordered multiple sets altering hearing how these pickups transform the feel & the tone of their instrument. We are sure you will appreciate the attention to detail when you hear your new pickups.
